Do you remember when the Disney Channel used to show authentic Disney programs? At midnight there used to be a segment called Vault Disney which showcased classic disney programs. Every night I would fire up the VCR and hit record, letting it harvest as I slept. The following day I would reap the bounty of the previous nights crop. In retrospect, I am glad that I did this because some of these treasures have faded into almost complete obscurity. They have been replaced by content that makes me concerned for the future image of Disney. "High School the Musical" is the most revealing example of an absence of imaginative content. However, I do have to give Disney some credit for releasing the "Disney Treasure" DVD sets- as they contain some excellent rare content. The latest one entitled "Disneyland: Secrets Stories and Magic" is a gem, containing material that was never aired on Vault Disney. The disney company has also shown some good taste by allowing classic Disney films such as 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Treasure Island to air on Turner Classic Movies. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to record many programs that will probably never air on cable ever again. I also had access to the video library that exists beneath the Magic Kingdom in the "Utilidore". There, I discovered certain titles that I never imagined I would be able to find. The Utilidore video library has an astounding collection. It brings me joy to be able to share all of this rare stuff with other classic Disney enthusiasts. I hope you enjoy this channel.
