*ding dong* Nick opened the door and let Cynthia in. Cynthia: Hey. Ready to go? Nick: Yeah, you? Cynthia: Why else would I be here? Nick: For my mom's home made dumplings. Cynthia: She made dumplings?! Be right back. Cynthia went to the kitchen. Nick rolled his eyes and followed her. Mrs.J: Hi, Cynthia. Want some? Cynthia: Yes, please, Mrs. Jonas. Mrs.J: Oh, sweetie. I've told you a million times to call me Denise. You are so polite. Nick: You have no clue... Nick pulled Cynthia away from the plate of dumplings and took her outside. Cynthia: Aw man. Why did you have to do that? Nick: I thought we were going to Jaime's birthday party! Cynthia: Well if you stopped fooling around then maybe we would be there by now! Nick: What - Cynthia was already in the car. She motioned Nick in. He sat in the passenger's seat and they drove off to the hotel. They were in the lobby, sitting on a couch talking when someone comes up to them. ?: Hi, Nick. Long time, no see. They looked up and saw a brown haired girl with green eyes. She was about their age and had on a sweet smile. Nick: Maddy? Is that you? Maddy: Hey, Nick. Who's this? Nick: This is my girlfriend, Cynthia. Maddy: Nice to meet you. Cynthia: You, too. ?: Madison Danielle Henderson! Get over here right now. Maddy looked over her shoulder. Maddy:That's my mom... sorry. Cynthia: Wait. You're Madison Henderson? Maddy: Yeah, why? Cynthia: I have a pen pal named Madison Henderson. Maddy: Hold on... Cynthia Williams? Cynthia: Oh my gosh! Cynthia and Maddy hugged each other and let go. Nick: Woah. You two know each other? Cynthia: Yeah! Nick: And since when did you have a pen pal? Cynthia: Since I was 11. Maddy: I can't believe you're here... and know Nick! Cynthia: I can't believe you're here... and know Nick, too! The girls started chattering away even though Maddy's mom was getting really impatient. Nick went to go look for Joe while the girls caught up with each other. He was in the ballroom helping set up. Joe: Hey, Nick. Where's Cynthia? Nick: Talking to Maddy. Joe: Maddy Henderson? I haven't seen her in a long time. Nick: Yeah. She's here and she's known Cynthia for 4 years. Joe: That's rough. Nick: Why? Joe: You use to like Maddy, right? And you even told her. Nick: That was 6 years ago. Joe: So? Joe went back to making his girlfriend's party special. Nick sighed and sat down at a table.
